About Me

I'M KATIE. NICE TO MEET YOU!

I have always loved working with people. Making others happy makes me happy.

I also love taking photos. Turning emotions and memories into beautiful, tangible items that can be enjoyed forever.

I became a photographer to combine these two passions into something that's more than a just a job. It's my way of giving back, being a part of my community, and making the world a more wonderful place.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of gear do you use?

I shoot with two Canon 5D Mark III cameras. I bring both to every session, that way there's a backup in case one fails!

My favorite lens is the 50mm f/1.2. But I also use telephoto lenses, wide angle lenses, macro lenses, and other medium range lenses too! All in all I typically bring 8-10 lenses to every shoot so I'm prepared for any situation.

What kind of lighting do you use?

I prefer to use natural light whenever possible! Natural light (especially overcast, golden hour, or secondary light) is soft and beautiful. However, I always bring my flash gear with me to weddings and/or indoor sessions, in case it rains or is too dark inside.

What if we need to reschedule?

I do not have a fee to reschedule. Life happens! If your little one gets sick, or we get rained out of our outdoor photoshoot, there's no rescheduling fee. I'll work with you to find another date! If you have scheduled a wedding, you are welcome to reschedule to another date (as long as I'm available) and your deposit will be cross-applied.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, absolutely! If your wedding venue requires a certificate, let me know and I'll send one over.

What’s your back-up plan if you can’t photograph our wedding as planned?

In my 10 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never missed an event! In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues of equal or superior skill. If they cost more than I do, I will cover the difference. You shouldn't have to stress or worry about having your day captured.

How long until we get to see the photos?

Portrait sessions (engagement, family, maternity, etc) have a 2 week turn around time. Weddings take up to 8 weeks.

Do you work with assistants or have a second photographer?

It depends! I try to keep costs as low as possible for my clients. We can talk about your day and discuss whether your event would benefit from a second photographer. The vast majority of weddings I cover do not require an extra shooter, so you shouldn't have to pay that extra cost! If you do need a second photographer, I have wonderful colleagues ready to assist, and we can discuss pricing on a case-by-case basis.

Will you edit all our pictures?

Absolutely! All final images will be edited for color, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful and are ready to print. My goal is to keep the edits true-to-life, while also maintaining a clean, editorial look.
